Rev. Dojo Yorshida was the Nichiren Shoshu Priest who establised the Nichiren Shoshu Temple in Ghana to understand the Foundation of Ghana Buddhism we present our personal and historical view of Rev. Dojo Yorshida Priest Rev. Dojo Yorshit and I talked about African/Americans visiting the the temple in Ghana. I asked his why did he after Gongyo start playing the drum and he explained that the drum was his was of introducing Buddhism to the communitiy in that neighbors would hear the drum and get attracted to the religion. On February 24, 1998 I asked Rev. Yorshita some tough questions and about his vision for Ghana and he mention that he must consider Ghana culture, the members thinking, and the circumstances in Ghana and all of Africa. I explained to Rev. Yorshita that this Nichiren Shoshu temple was more synificant to African/Americans because our ancestors were taken from Africa as slaves and deep in our hearts we realize that our ancestor's soul are not happy however now that we have the "True Law" in Africa things would change. I asked Rev. Yorshita his feelings and what was Nichiren Shoshu Temple feeling about this matter. Did Nichiren Shoshu Temple understand about how some of us African/Americans feel about Nichiren Shoshu Buddhism in Africa.?

Later that night on February 24, 1998 we attended the first meeting of the Priest and the Ghana lay members where Rev. Yorshita explains to Ghana members about practices and precedures at a Nichiren Shoshu Temple. Ghana members were introduced to Buddhism via the SGI Buddhist organization and the background and practice with a Priest was new for the Ghana members.
